QStudio Enterprise 2.0 released

QA Systems has now released version 2.0 of QStudio Enterprise.

Version 2.0 has varoius major enhancements: support for Enterprise Java Bean compliance, the ability to analyze incomplete Java source bases and a greatly simplified installation procedure.

The ability to analyze incomplete source bases is a particulary powerful feature as it means that analysis can take place at the subproject level providing support across very large projects. When the analyzer hits files missing declaration information that cannot be resolved due to missing files/classes, it determines which rules can still be applied despite the missing information and applies those only. In practice this means that up to 80% of the rules can still be applied despite incomplete source trees.

QStudio Enterprise is the enterprise strength team-based solution that allows software developers and software process managers (project managers and QA managers) to automate and coordinate quality control and multiple coding standards across multiple projects. QStudio Enterprise provides (in addition to all single user Pro functionality):

Free Code Quality Assessment Service

QA Systems has launched its free Java code quality assessment service. This service allows you to assess the quality of your Java code using the sophisticated QStudio Enterprise analysis capabilities.

The service - unique in the industry - is based on an ASP (Application Service Provider) model and can be carried out without intervention.

You can carry out as many analyses as you want. With each analysis the associated analysis data is automatically uploaded to a private protected area on our server which only you can access. You are given a private login account with which you can view your results.

Each analysis is coupled to a milestone so you can see the results of successive analysis runs and determine possible code quality improvement trends. You also have the ability to configure your own coding standard and inspect against that particular standard.

See Free Code Assessment Service to register. You can use this service as a way of evaluating the Enterprise version without the need of installing on your own server.

QA Systems opens QStudio Forum

As the QStudio community continues to rapidly grow we believe that there is a need for a forum to allow QStudio users to communicate, acquire support and give us your feedback. It also allows us to provide you better information and improved support.

Java IDE Market Share Survey

QA Systems has carried out a survey in September in which more than 1400 developers, software architects and sofware managers world wide were asked which Java IDE they are currently using.

According to the data received Eclipse from Eclipse.org currently has the largest market share with 45%, followed by Borland JBuilder with 16% and IDEA IntelliJ with 10%.

For a full list of the results in a bar chart as well as how the survey was carried out see Java IDE Market Share Survey.
